I had this awesome plan of doing a bunch of detox recipes for this weeks recipe post but I had numerous women ask me about how to control their sugar cravings and “NOT CHEAT” especially around the time of their periods. Well I just happened to be close to mine as well and definitely feeling the need for sugary snacks too.
I am actually a firm believer that we should all indulge in the odd sweet especially when we are pmsing! I always say keep the sweet treats for when you really need them. In other words when you are at the begining of your cycle usually for the first 2-3 weeks (1st day being the first day of your period), it’s much easier to not eat sugar and maintain some control. That way when the time comes and your sugar cravings go through the roof and you need to self soothe the raging maniac on the inside then you can afford to have something.
As for this recipe post I decided “Screw it” – we are going to the other end of the spectrum and I am going to give you 5 delicious homemade sweet treats that aren’t horribly bad for you….not great…but not bad. Each recipe comes from my on line meal planning and group coaching program On Track. There is guaranteed to be something in here to please everyone’s sweet tooth!
