Karen! This was fascinating! First, let me just thank you for your podcast. I’m 58 and was diagnosed with fatty liver disease in March, right as everything was shutting down. I’ve been working very hard to lose a large amount of weight and heal my liver (which included finding your podcast). I’m doing really well so far! Second, I do have some questions… I was adopted at birth, so this DNA test would help SO MUCH I’m so many ways! Many years ago however, I altered my body by having gastric bypass surgery. Obviously that wouldn’t affect my DNA, but it still greatly affects my intestinal make up and how I absorb things (or don’t…). Could my results be somehow skewed because of that surgery? I hope you know what I mean? In any case, thank you for reading my question and thank you again for your podcast!

Hi Megan thank you so much for listening to the podcast! To answer your question no your DNA would not be affected by your gastric by pass surgery. I agree getting the DNA kit would be amazing being adopted it will give you a feeling of knowing where you came from.
Thank you for your reply! Very much appreciated!
Who is the “guy” in the US that you referenced, Karen, who is making strides with Alzheimer’s reversal with diet and food, etc? THX!
