How I Regained My Thyroid Health... Sarah's Story

Before I found Karen, I was at a loss. I was doing everything “right,” however I had gained almost 20 pounds in a year. I was following the same lifestyle I had followed for years, eating right and exercising 4-5 times a week doing both cardio and strength training. This had kept me fit for years. In addition to the weight gain, I was suffering from fatigue and insomnia. I hadn’t felt so poorly since first being diagnosed with hypothyroidism 15 years before. I did not have the time or energy to work out twice a day. I eliminated the few treats I had a week to reduce my calories, but nothing changed.I heard Karen being interviewed on a podcast and was given a spark of hope. I went to her website, listened to a few of her podcasts, and decided to reach out to her. I opted for the one-on-one coaching with Karen.



Karen had me do a saliva hormone test, and various thyroid and screening blood tests. Through my test results, Karen was able to pinpoint where to begin my healing. We met, and she looked at my whole self, not just my test results. She asked poignant questions and heard my concerns, and most importantly, she believed me and the symptoms I reported.She validated that my blood work showed I was eating properly and taking care of myself, and that there were other causes of my weight gain. She adjusted my thyroid medication, with the support of my nurse practitioner, and had me begin using progesterone, adrenal support, as well as begin her Hormone and Metabolic meal plan . The HMR plan was to address the inflammatory foods in my diet.

My insomnia disappeared within two weeks of beginning my plan. After two months on the paleo plan my joint pain, that I thought was permanent, was gone. After four months, I had lost the 20 pounds that I had gained. I no longer have to fight through fatigue every day or drink multiple cups of coffee in the afternoon just to manage. I fall asleep easily and sleep through the night. I feel wonderful.

Working with Karen was a joy, she is easy to talk to, down to earth, genuine and has a wonderful sense of humor. Her knowledge is boundless. Over the four months, we touched bases many times, and adjusted my plan based on how I was feeling. Karen is open to so many treatment methods, allowing her to find a solution for each issue.

I have suggested Karen, and her podcast and services, to so many friends. We don’t have to slow down and settle for feeling poorly after age 40, we can find solutions and get help.
